As y’all know COVID-19 has really changed the world these past 6 months. When this pandemic first started we decided to move our event to September 12th, because surely we would have a handle on things.
That has not happened 😢
Now, we are less than a month away from an event that could potentially bring a crowd together, therefore spreading this virus even more. Which, unfortunately with a heavy heart, means we will have to be canceling all in-person events for 2020.
Now, I know that sounds like bad news, but that certainly isn’t the end for #Pride this year.
Last year, we were able to put on a successful Halloween Festival which was all leading to this year, since Halloween is on a Saturday, full moon, and 2 extra hours.
That in-person event will also be canceled BUT we still have some tricks up our sleeves.
We are happy to announce that we will be merging Denton Pride Festival and Halloween Fest for 2020! We will be moving to an all-digital day, including performances, Non-profit highlights, and a whole lot of Pride! This event will be happening on #Halloween! In the first part of the day, we will be doing a Pride Spotlight, where we will celebrate all things Pride because we like to think that Pride is all year long! Then at sundown, we will be shifting focus and move on to the Halloween side of the event!
If you are a vendor or a sponsor of either of these events, we will be sending out emails about how we will be proceeding for this new event.
We are very excited to bring this digital experience to each and every one of you, and we really hope you will tune in to it!
Be safe, stay healthy, and have Pride!
